Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) introduces its new How2AppNote “How to Design a Ultra-thin, Highly Efficient, Multi-level DC-to-DC Converter Using eGaN® FETs”.

This is based on an application for the three-point converter 48 V to 20 V, 250 W with eGaN-FETs and digital control. The solution presented achieves a maximum overall system efficiency of 97.8% and only 5 mm total thickness (including PCB). This is particularly critical for DC-to-DC power modules in data transmission, telecommunications and consumer electronics systems that require more power with increasing space and volume requirements. GaN offers an ultra-thin and highly efficient solution.
